The Harvest Season

Autumn is coming, marking the beginning of a cozy harvest season at Historic Bovaird House. Our orchards are rich with apples and pears, and the ruddy, rustic brick farmhouse starts to blend in with the coloured leaves that surround it.

Bovaird House is accepting reservations for one of our most beautiful and popular events: Desserts By Lamplight. For two evenings, the house is open and lit entirely by glowing lamps. Tasty seasonal desserts are served with tea and cider before a roaring fire. This event is for ticket-holders only. Reserve now!

Camera Ready

On August 18th, Historic Bovaird House was the subject of an extensive photo shoot by Trevor Connell Photography. The result was a series of striking portraits capturing another era: antiques and artifacts, staff members in costume, and the House itself, commemorating times gone by.

This picture makes me feel as if a neighbouring lady has just come to call.

The exquisite detail of Victorian flatware.

Welcome to Historic Bovaird House

Welcome to the premier post of the Bovaird House blog!

Historic Bovaird House is a 19th-century farmhouse operating as a unique local museum in Brampton, Ontario.

The farmhouse was built circa 1852 and was donated to the City over 20 years ago by its last surviving owner. It is operated completely by volunteers who have endeavoured to turn back the clock, and restore the property to its original appearance.

We give tours, organize fund-raising, source out antique items for the home, and maintain the property with the help of your donations. The result is a farmhouse steeped in history, furnished with authentic artifacts and period craftsmanship

Please visit our website at www.bovairdhouse.ca for more information on Events, Tours, and Visiting Hours.
